Here's a couple pics from the Kalahari a two years ago. The last pic was in South Africa. I just wanted to throw it in because the antelope on the far left was a mix from a kudu, and an eland...

Nice one! There is one about that size lurking around the property we hunt, our friend is determined to get him this year. Chris got his 1st dear a couple weeks ago, it was a smaller fellow. I had to show him how to gut and clean it, in fact I think the only pic taken was of me holding the youngest and cleaning it one handed. lol

One more from the Island. This one scored 160" and it was cold, raining and just plain nasty while we were out there.

I have a nice set I found this spring in the Idaho backcountry that I was going to have belt buckles made out of. I could be persuaded to trade them for Rover goodies.

The really expensive ones are those that killed tractor tires in the wheat fields. They go for $100 an ounce.

Odd ( maybe not so odd ) question.

Do any of you have a RTS compound bow ( 31" draw length ) sitting in the closet collecting dust that are willing to part with?

I was invited to a Bow hunt, I am not a bow user, but I can hold my own.

I know I can get a PSE 2013 leftover for $ 400.00 ( shipped ) , but I am trying to spend less for something I am not going to use that often.

Let me know what you have if any

( Preference given to Bowtech ( incl Diamond ) , Matthews, PSE and Parker

Thanks

Off subject but has anyone done any nighttime hog hunting? I need some education on thermal vs NV scopes. The FLIR RSV scope looks cool but that may be more expensive than a LR hobby.

Thanks

Elk and Deer Bow season started last weekend. I am heading up the hill near Oak Creek on Sunday thru Thursday. I also have a Bear tag this year. We see a lot of Bears in our area. Has anybody eaten Bear? Or is this a grind and summer sausage situation?

Craig,

I wish you luck on your hunt. Bear meat is rough, really rough to consume. I can stomach a lot of things but bear meat is not one of them. I have tried multiple bears from multiple locations (Alaska, NJ, NY, all with different diets). Most people hunt them for the hides and use the meat for dogs or have it ground. Talk to your processor they might have other ideas.
