Dealer wrecks $60k car and says tough crap

Debbie and John Hooper took their cherished Chevy Camaro ZL1 to the dealer under warranty to fix a minor paint problem. Then they allege they got a call from the dealer saying they'd wrecked the car.........

Wow. That is just terrible. It would be cool if a lawyer or law firm donated their time and socked it to this dealership so the owner wouldn't be out a dime.

x2 - apparently the heat has already gotten so bad on them that they took down their Facebook page.

These stories come out all the time.

I'm trying to figure out the rational of the dealer in destroying a customer's car, then offering to sell them a replacement. I also can't figure out why the person who interviewed the GM didn't ask such an obvious question.
On the other hand, if it's true, the Camaro owner was dumb to say he'd need an $11,000 credit to buy the one offered.

It probably means that the monthly payments he is making will be for the replacement vehicle instead of the wrecked one.

I also like this...

"The Hoopers didn't just buy their show-worthy black ZL1 for $60,000. They had to trade in a 2011 Camaro SS and also sell their pristine 1969 Camaro SS as well to get the new car."

First world problems.

How is that a show worthy car? Its a Camaro. Every douche bag owns a black Camaro, Corvette, or Mustang.

I have unknowingly blurted this out to a few that own them when saying that I want what everyone else does not have.
