Daniel Im not an attorney but Ive got a feeling that yours would advise you to stop talking about this truck on a public forum. Tough to allege fraud when you publicly defend the trucks legitimacy.

I havent consulted my attorney about this board, however I have been informed by him that all of my actions (which he is aware of) were honorable given the extent of fraud perpetrated upon me by the seller. As a point of reference it is illegal to sell any item that has not legally been imported into the country. Additionally, when one markets an item through fraud and deception the buyer cannot be held accountable when the selling party provided countless fraudulent documents to prove its authenticity. I am just glad that no one else got burned. Thanks for the advice and this will be my last posting.

It doesn't have to be. There are some nice/decent NAS 110s for sale from time to time, so just buy one of those.

You had no idea that the common rail, computer controlled diesel under the hood wasn't 25yrs old until you tried to order an oil filter ? I guess I'm surprised @ that statement. Most in a financial position to throwi down that kind of money for a defender are a bit more astute and would have known exactly what they were buying.

i dont know what a "common rail" is and i assumed the engine and anything else under the hood was part of the restoration and legit. Never expected it to be from a factory and new. Ok... Really done this time.

Final final point... It wasn't that much money to me so I really didn't do the right amount of research. Hindsight is 20/20. I have that kind of financial position because i am great at what I do for a living. Unfortunately, I suck at buying land rovers.

Im inclined to believe Daniel and not continuously bash him if he has in fact hired a competent attorney and the statements he makes are true. Not everyone is a complete defender guru.

Then again his statements could be to cover his ass.

Good luck with the court case Im sure it will get nasty.

Read the article. My law firm is the largest in the country and I am using a senior partner. I am definitely not a defender guru and I really just bought it to drive up to Napa once in a while. If I have gone through the motion of filling a suit in Superior Court of California you can bet that I am telling the truth and have nothing to hide. That's why I am not worried about defending myself here. The lesson is that these things are ticking time bombs if they dont have the right providence. Additionally, NoVa is correct. I am not a defender importer.

@mongosd2- i figured people on the forums were just tremendously passionate about rovers and tend to be rather skeptical. mistakenly, i brushed it off as "bashing". admittedly that was a poor decision. i just spoke with the lawyers and it appears this case has been resolved favorably.

Wow, look who has come back to defend himself after all his claims that the truck was fully legal and that I was just a plain old hater. Looks like all I did was tell you the truth the whole time. What happened, all your money couldn't buy you a clue or a way out of all your lies? Is your only way out to claim you the innocent victim and the original seller is the bad guy? Are you that pathetic?

You seemed to talk a big game before because you collect high end watches and cars. You must be another dumb fool with a lot of money to spend. You remind me of those rich kids who act all tough but once you get a little heat put on you, you squeal like a bitch. Do yourself a favor and use all of that money to buy yourself a clue before you go spouting off like an expert.

congratulations on your settlement, probably best it didn't end up before a Judge.

I'm still astounded that someone who professes to have no mechanical acumen; who has apparently met with Julian and shown him your truck; only learned your truck wasn't a 1972 when ordering a filter to undertake changing the oil yourself ? Not bashing your lack of reality. But most here remember the truck being advertised for sale as a 2010 tdci Puma on a 1972 identity when first offered for sale on ebay- to include the actual 1972 truck as well.
Just find it difficult to believe anyone could read that ad, make a purchase, and claim
naivete. Not surprised you are a member of the Ca. bar assn.

megamatt- you are still as intelligent as ever. worried about everyone's life but your own. i don't need to respond further as your post tells the world enough about who you are and why you are in the position in life that you are.

130tdi- I have never met julian in my life. we spoke over the phone twice. other than that I have zero experience with him. I also have a car collection of nearly 200 so this was a case of me simply not really caring that much until I got beat on the money. I hadn't even seen the car until after it was delivered to my house and in my garage.

to answer previous questions, my occupation is a penile implant surgeon and I have made the majority of my money doing studies on megamatt and his invested phallus and subsequent journey to overcompensate via the use of automotive forums.

*inverted phallus not invested... multitasking at real job..
