Dealer Repair

I have been going through the records from my 110 and I found the receipt from Hornburg Land Rover for when they did this repair on 10/28/98.

Anyone think it is still under warranty? ha

Nice bondo

That is why you don't use bondo on aluminium land rover panels.

Well I have the receipt for the work. Shockingly I have every receipt from 1995 on. Until 2001 it was exclusively serviced at Hornburg. Now I could be wrong but the receipt says right rear damage repair and the customer was charged $1200. It isnt terrible but it would look a lot better be fixed the right way.

You are mistaken or someone has given you a bogus receipt! Hornburg does not & never has done bodywork on D-90 or 110s. That is a fact!

As previously stated, as they are an authorized LR dealer, even if they did do bodywork they would replace damaged panels & never use bondo!

I tend to believe Barry on this one.
Most Defender owners don't realize this, but a NAS 110 has a different tub side than a 90.
They have not been available for some time unless you find one off of a burnt truck.

The tub sides were probably not available and so they simply did the best with what they had.
I have never heard of a Land Rover Dealer that wouldn't do body work (never has, nor never will) on a 90 or 110.
That just sounds pure crazy. Land Rover Nashville's body shop has done plenty of work on my Defenders and there are times that it may be sitting next to a jag or a Toyota. They will work on anything.

Just sayin'

Lots of rover dealers without body shops sublet the work out.

What is there not to get from Hornburg Jagual & LR of LA, does not & never has done body work on any Land Rover!

They do not & never have had the facilities or equipment to perform body work! That is a fact!

The tel # for Horngurg Jaguar & LR is listed above in case you want to argue with them!

I have every single piece of doc from the car and the dealer. Why would anyone make a fake receipt? I will say the receipt is vague in that it says right rear damage repair and the amount paid. I am sure they could look up the truck but honestly Sasha I hope you work or own the dealership to care this much. It is a crappy repair from 11 years ago. Who knows who or how it was done or where it was farmed to.

Maybe but not Hornburg!

They will recommend a body shop but NEVER or ever will sublet!

A little thing called liability as well as other issues!

I do not own a dealer or work in one & i do care enough to point you in the right direction!

Per my previous posts you must have been given a fake receipt or you are way off base!
There is no ifs ands or buts about it!

Strong statements. Could the damage refer to something in the right rear that is not bodywork that cost $1200? but then wouldnt it be itemized like other receipts. This arguement is fun. I will scan the receipt and post it.

Wait, now that I think about it, I think my truck may be fake!

Wow this is hostile! I said the repair could be something else but I will post the receipt. Also no one is arguing that they don't have a body shop but I think everyone here agrees that they could have farmed it out. The owner was a woman which doesn't matter but there is no reason considering the pile of dealer receipts I have that they couldn't have handled getting it done for her. Remember this was 1998 and judging by what was normally spent on the truck I would think the dealer would be accommodating. But actually you are probably right. I made all this up to flame Hornburg. Truth be told I dont even have a defender.
