Anybody here ever get their local LR dealer provide a written appraisal of their vehicle for insurance reasons?

Hahahahaha. I know a guy who brought a NAS 110 to a dealer for a pre-purchase inspection and they told him that he shouldn't pay more than $5k for it. Sadly, I think you need to scout out a dealer that actually knows what a Defender is instead of just bringing it to any random one...because they may end up appraising your truck at $5k. There are also some people on this forum who are registered appraisers.

Doubt they have the knowledge.

My boss has done dozens of appraisals in the past decade, mostly for insurance but a few for sales.

$5k sounds good for that 110 though, let me know if he decides to sell....

It wouldn't be hard to price out $50k in repairs on an NAS 110. I did over $9k in repairs on the last D90 we sold. I can see how a dealership might give an appraisal like that considering what would need to be done to put on their lot.
