Deal of the Century.....

Saw this "interesting" ad up on the local trading post.... It is listed on 8 cities across the country. There is no location shown for the vehicle and no phone number....

I send an email and got the response below.

Hello there, I appreciate that you contacted me. First let me say that the 1994 Land Rover Defender is available for $2,900 (final price). It is in good condition, there's no scratches or any dents on it,very well maintained, please check the pictures, I have a clear title for it, no liens or loans. It has 147000 km. Never been in any accidents.Where are you located? The reason why I'm selling it so cheap (it`s real value is far from this price...) is because my 8 year old daughter is very sick and we need those money as soon as possible, right now i don`t care of it`s real price,my daughter`s health is more important..... If you have any further questions please do not hesitate ask Best Regards
Anyone recognize the truck?? If it is a scam of some sort, what the heck is the angle?

Tell him/her , you understand, feel sorry for the little one, and ask him/her to finalize the deal, then THE ANGLE will appear

The scam is the money transfer methodology and/or the timing to validate the paperwork.

The angle - the guy could walk into any car shop and get $10k US if legit so there is no need to sell it at th offering price. Having said that, say yes, ask for the VIN, license number and his insurance company. Call the insurance to ask about the policy and the sale. They will not want to be on the hook for a hot car. Same with the license plate and the cops - double check.

Worse case, you put out the money, its stolen, cops take truck, and you loose the truck / the money.
Best case, you get a truck via great deal and deprive a kid out of $8k that could go to medical expenses (but you are in Canada so socialistic health means...?)

For such a nice looking truck, the karma is all wrong on this one

LOL, I'm not about to buy it, just thought I would post it up for fun.

I'd have to drive it and would do a full history search. I doubt they will ever respond to me as I asked actual questions.....

Yes, health care is free here....

A friend may have found the real truck.
