He has money for every wrangler accessory imaginable but no budget for tires. It's sad because the truck will be all built up and yet he will end up totaling when he skids off Washington street when some frat boy steps on front of his truck screaming sweet wrangler dude!!

I got a parking ticket one night in front of my house, and it was on my Lime green 1976 mg midget ( clown car.) the cop wrote the plate down wrong and on the ticket it said it was a 96 buick regal.. I went to the chief of police and said honestly does this look like a buick!
He then lectured me for parking on the street( 2 days before the winter parking rules were over) and didnt say anything about his patrol man who must have been asleep...

He also accused me of maybe stealing their info, i then explained i had had the car for 14 years, and it really wasnt a buick and i had no idea who the people were in seattle they had mailed the ticket to.

A few decades ago I received a summons to appear in court regarding a series of unpaid parking tickets. The tickets had my plate number and described a blue Ford pickup. My truck was a large red Chevrolet stake body dump truck, and I had never driven it in the area where the parking offenses occurred. I called the police and told them this story -- problem solved!

The only part the parking guy got right was my license plate. BASTARDS.

IIRC the last one I saw was Dmarchand's parking ticket, but I'm sure it happens way more often. I'm fighting it for sure (at least court is at 8:30am, so no biggie).

Reasons for fighting it:

Ticket states Jeep was parked illegally within 25 feet of a crosswalk.
-But, parking sign says we can park on both sides of the sign
-curb is not yellow
-parking sign is 18 feet from crosswalk
-no distinct markings to show that you cannot park in that area (some of the other streets have yellow curbs surrounding crosswalk, therefore setting up confusion).
-I don't drive a Jeep!!

How far where you from crosswalk (period)! That is your argument.

What's the problem in that pic? He's the fucking police, if he wants to park on top of something then it's not a problem.

No need to get all bent out of shape, buddy. Generally I agree with you. It's funny because they argue that parking close to the crosswalk hinders a pedestrian's view of oncoming traffic, and that parking IN a crosswalk forces a pedestrian out of a "protected" area. This accomplishes both, and at arguably the busiest intersection.

I've stopped trying to deal with the parking authority here and bought a garage finally. Truck has been out in PA so haven't been able to confirm that it'll definitely fit.

not bent out of shape. I always forget humor isn't conveyed very well when typing it. I would never park like that.

For once I agree with Josh. There should be a good reason for them to park in such a way. Otherwise, have some respect for your employers, as every good public servant should. I went to the hardware store the other day and had to park two blocks away because a fucking Parking Enforcement vehicle was parked in such a way that it blocked the only two available spaces, while one of the occupants waited in line for lunch at Wings-to-Go across the street. Both examples are an insult to the public trust of law enforcement. Not to mention the WMATA cop (off duty) that tried to cut off the 90 a few weeks ago. He found out that Land Rovers bite, especially ones with Rockware winch bumpers on front. He then called me a liar to my face and told me that he knew I was lying "because we're the police and we know when something is wrong." I just quietly jotted down all the things he said, made for a nice quick dismissal of his claim.

I have the utmost respect for law enforcement. For many reasons. I think its a shite job having to babysit grown adults. But I expect the same respect in return, and I usually get it. And when I witness things like the 3 examples above, it irks me.

Truck is all good, it's just that's it's 3 hours away. Heading out there this weekend for Rovers on the Rocks 2, so will have it tomorrow!

Had Trevor do a good going-over of the truck, new oil cooler lines from Trailhead, power steering hoses, lubes, filters, grease everything up...basically everything I want to learn, but figured I should get it done in the short term so that the truck is good to go, then learn it as I go.
