D90 / Soft-top / Door Key

Are there any dealerships out there that will order / make me a door lock key with the VIN number. i have lost the door keys / i just shipped the truck and realized i did not have the shop install new cylinders. so the truck us in route and i want to send him a key.

LR Peabody was useless - could not understand what i was asking. he kept telling me to bring my key to a locksmith. i told him the "key" was the missing part 5 times.

LR Bedford - is great but they can not cut the key

HELP please. thank you.

yes funny man they do - you had a door lock key. =)

i cant believe i can not find a LR dealership that can cut me a key!! this is crazy - and people looking to buy defenders want to do pre purchase inspections at LR franchise dealerships. this drives me crazy.

the dealership can inspect and service - but they can cut a freaking key.

Don't all Defender door keys open up all other Defender doors? Mine worked on my ST, SW and my friends trucks... Just send the guy a set of keys, any should work.

While I have only owned two Defenders (meaning my knowledge isn't as much as many here), I have found many of these trucks do indeed let the ignition key manage the door locks. I think this is just after people generally expecting that to be the case (as with any "normal" vehicle) and over time have worked the locks so much that they will turn. This was true on my first and so many others I have come across inspecting to potentially buy. I have all the original keys with my current one and the key code tabs that came along with it. One is metal and one is a fabric key fob with handwritten numbers. Would like feedback if I'm dreaming that those are original.
