D90 SD rack question

I purchased a SD rack and ladder from Matt F. on here a while back but now I am having second thoughts about securing the ladder into the back of my SW. I have seen some pics of racks that seem to attach to the cross member so as to avoid making the holes for the ladder attachment. Is there a ladder that would attach to the SD rack but be secured to the cross member? Or should I sell the SD and buy something else. I like the look of the SD rack.
Thanks guys,
Craig

Second this...talk to jefhuf / Lelo Fab, plus he's close to you so much easier to make it happen.
