D2 - Lexington,KY to Dallas, TX

My daughter (16) and I are flying to Lexington, KY to pick up a Disco 2 and drive it home to Dallas.

Any recommended stops along the way? Heading through Nashville, Memphis, and Little Rock... And possibly West Monroe, LA (daughter thought it would be fun to swing by Duck Commander).

Also, I'm willing to carry some stuff if it would fit and is along the route. We will start drive back on Monday afternoon.

I'd recommend stopping at the first Advance Auto Parts you see and pick up a few gallons of antifreeze.

Just looked this up online; we will put it on the itinerary. We are not going to rush the trip back and have some fun. Daughters a new driver and is going to get her 'highway legs' under her.

Two gallons of antifreeze from auto parts store - ✅

The National Corvette Museum is in Bowling Green KY. It's pretty cool, not sure if it's on your route though.

I've been there; I really enjoyed it. It will be out of our route this trip.

Daughter just threw out the idea of heading down to New Orleans... Had to nix that... Going south (6 hours) to only go north again doesn't sound fun.

No, you do that after it explodes and takes the tranny out. That is if it doesn't overheat and slip a liner first.

I'm in Nashville and I'm fairly familiar with D2s after owning one for 10 years. PM me if you need anything.

Robert: Thank you for the offer. We didn't get on the road until 4:30 PM and we are staying in Dickson (off I40).

It is nice to know members are out there to help if needed. I had it inspected prior to flying in and got a good deal. Now... 2" lift (suspension) and bigger tires to prepare for SCARR in March.

That's the great thing about the boards. Safe travels and enjoy that Disco.

We made it home last night for the daughter to go out with her friends.

The Disco did very well. I was concerned... Alas, we made it.

Now, I'm creating the short list of fixes and after-market upgrades.

Thanks for the support.
