D10

I know, I know, how many times are we going to see this same thread, but I thought it was interesting. My in-laws went to the local LR dealer and were looking at the RRS and the LR3. They mentioned that there son-in-law drives a Defender and the sales guide began telling them all about the D10.

Everything I heard was second hand, but it is supposed to be out the end of 2009 as a 2010 model year.

I would never get rid of my D-90 and I hope that the new truck is different and I'm sure it will be, because I like the fact that I drive something different than every other Tom, Dick, and Harry. No offense to anyone on this board named Tom, Dick, or Harry.

2010 supposedly is the next model release including the next NAS version of whatever is replacing the current Defenders.

I would consider replacing my DiscoII with whatever comes out as my daily driver and keep my D90 to offroad in or just to blast in. If I have a bad day, I usually go for a drive in the 90--can't imagine getting rid of it.

sometimes deep down inside i hope they never bring it back here. I like having a truck that nobody else has. its special and interesting to me alone, and yes I too like the fact that I drive something different than every other Tom, Dick, and Harry.

then again, having the new version here would drive down prices of replacement parts and new innovative after market parts would be introduced....but i would rather keep it how it is now

Trust me the new Defender will be a completely different truck than what we now drive. I don't care if they bring it in or not as I already have the original. But like Chris said I would probably buy one as a daily driver.

As far as I'm concerned, I'll at least consider any LR product that comes out here with a small displacement diesel engine. I would even buy a Toyota if they pulled their diesel head out of their ass before LR.

I hope they never bring it back too! If they bring something out to replace it I hope they rename it so that it has absolutely no connection to our vehicles. Of course with our luck they'll keep the name (unlike the LR3 and LR2) because it is the only name aside from the RR that has a good rep with the general public here in the US.
