I grew up driving a 71 2a in the 70's and bought a 10yr old FJ55 when I was in college. I liked the 55 better.

Cool quick read. But I think a more appropriate comparison is Series vs FJ4X. A "pig" is more like a Stage One 110

My father sold series trucks when I was a kid, both of my parents drove as daily drivers. I missed a few sports events and birthday parties as a result. I got my first Fj40 in 1981, been a Land Cruiser guy ever since. IMO the FJ40 is best "jeep" vehicle ever made.
