Crazy shape

I was at a friends house and I was telling him about the maiden trip in the new boat will be a camping trip down the Kissimmee River. We get on the computer and google map the KR and we are looking and on the Avon Park Bombing Range is this strange thing.
Look at the link and look around the area a little. There is some other strange shapes on the APBR.
What do you all think?

looks like su 29's, maybe a phantom or two and a couple of older shells to the south on the runway. If you could actually get in, it looks like a neat place to check out.

It is open to the public to hunt. Some areas are not accessible.

Excuse me while I dork out...

Half right. Definitely F-4s on the runway, but those are not "SU-29s" on the apron (There's no such thing). Close to a SU-27 Flanker, but those are actually average decoys/mockups of the MIG-29 Fulcrum.

The Star of David pattern on the SAM site is/was typical of the SA-2 and allows for maximum use and access to the missiles for support vehicles and movement. The pattern was seen often in Vietnam and Cuba during the crisis. Having a tell-tale setup like this makes it easy for an imagery analyst (or civilians in this case) to pick out the SAMs sites quickly on the overhead imagery. Many countries have gone away from planned, easy to spot sites such as this.

Dork off....
