Craigslist - Legit or not?

So, i'm selling a set of factory rubber RR mats from my parents '11 RR. Had a hit on Craigslist...sound fishy!!!

Thanks for getting back to me, the price is okay by me. I won't be
coming down to look on it, as I'm so busy for now.

I will appreciate if you can send me more closer picture but if not
there no problem and My mode of payment is Cashier Bank check or Money
Order check cos its more safer to me and i have been using that to buy
items on Craigslist without any problem. Once you have the check i
will wait until the check is clear in your bank before any procedure.
In order to do this i need your full name and address and contact # in
which you want the check to be mail to and what name.

My shipper will come for the pick up as soon as payment is certified.
Also I will be adding an excess to the payment on the check that will
be sent to you which you will assist me in sending the the balance to
my shipper for their shipping cost. I'm asking you to do this for me
cos my schedule for now is very tight. Once again am gonna wait until
the check is clear by your bank before any procedure

Regards.

Definitely not legit! Old scam with fake cashiers checks for more than the purchase price.

That's a pretty well known scam. Don't fall for it.

This is a scam.

Sambumba never mentions the product you are selling and the shipper comments are a dead give away. Shipping a set of mats via a shipper.

I get shit like this twice a week on my CL adds.

Honestly if people don't put their phone number in their e-mails to me it usually means they're not serious about buying the item, or they're fishing for information. I usually either request a phone number in the ad itself or upon initial contact over e-mail - it helps weed out these losers.

Even if they give a phone number it can still be a scam. You can get a free number from google to text with and have a vm. Sneeky!

Absolutely. But far less likely. Plus I usually talk to them over the phone - both when I'm selling or buying something. No matter what, if you're contacted through CL and asked for any personal information, that should be a huge red flag. Also, any mention of Western Union or other services should basically not even warrant a response from you, as it's more than likely a scam.

Related, what are some of the ways you guys sell stuff. I have a ton of Range Rover stuff (mats, loadspace mats, rear loadspace cover) plus other crap we're looking to sell such as an elliptical machine. I could go eBay but the shipping sucks. Are there any other better ways to sell stuff? We're moving and I'm trying to clean house!

Craigslist. The iPhone has a wayyy easy app for it. If it's a small item, meet at a common, public location and exchange (McDonalds, Starbucks, etc.). If it's a large item like your elliptical, either coordinate a meeting spot (parking lot) to swap from your truck to his, or have him come to your house for pickup (not recommended).

Um, just post the Range Rover stuff here. Duh. Unless you really don't want to ship anything.

Was trying to get around shipping, but I also am tired of looking at all this stuff. I think I'll post here as well. I found a cool shipper called ShipNex. Probably will use them.

I understand; I have family in Tyler and Texarkana area. Hot, Hot, Hot. More rain than Dallas and no wind.

It not too bad, it's a 'humid heat', as a opposed to the dry heat of the Rockies.

Pine trees are nice.

Tyler is where we are off to. We're building a new house on Lake Palestine in Eagle's Bluff CC.
