Craft Brewery visits

Any of you guys or gals into the craft beer scene? I have been taking the 90 to a number of breweries for can and tap releases as of late and have been seeing an uptick in vintage car owners doing the same. It's great to chat beer and cars with fellow enthusiasts!

If into the craft beer scene, what types of beers do you enjoy?
Do you trade beers/ship beers?
Are you on Untappd? (if so, add me - cheste1 is my userid)

Cheers!

There are around 10 breweries in a 10 mile radius of me in Burlington. Vermont is loaded with craft breweries. Magic Hat is a little under 2 miles from me, which is probably the best known from VT. I have shipped many cases of Heady Topper & Sip of Sunshine, which are probably the two most famous around here, but I'm a Belgian Tripel/Quadruppel guy, not a huge fan of hops.

Nice location! Heady and SoS are great, I prefer the Focal Banger over both! If ever in NYC, hit Clinton Hall downtown near WTC, the usually have great Belgians on tap.

SoS....yeah I’ve had some

Around me in NOVA there are now countless brewers...it’s insane, many don’t bottle, most do growlers

I fit the Oregon stereotype - over-the-top IPA's. Don't think I've ever met an IBU that was too high.

Mayhaps you have heard of Great Notion? If so say hi to Paul for me will you? He's a Philly native and owner.

Hoppier is better. But then there is always a time for stouts, and other interesting styles for sure.

Come down to Chattanooga for some good local craft brews, and on your way stop into Asheville, great hot spot for it. My good friend owns Foothills Brewery in Winston-Salem, check them out to if youre down this way.

Attend the Rovers at Wintergreen event that ROAV in Nelson County Virginia. The area is known now at The Brew Ridge Parkway with more breweries than you can visit.

Crap, went in-town this eve to indy and Sean bolans. Heading to Burley Oak, RAR, and Oliver on Saturday for the releases. On the fence on taking the 90 vs disco 3. I will definitely let you know when I head out to indy in the 90 again, Phil likes it.

Yep, I tried their brews and they need some dialing-in. I am going to give em a few months before I try them again. I am digging the concept though - try a beer on tap and get the recipe and ingredients to brew it from the same spot.

Thanks! Yeah, there do seem to be quite a few more down in NC than up here in MD (I think we are at 50 now?).

There are TONS of breweries here in Atlanta. I pass a few of them everyday.

Sweetwater is the big one here in Atlanta and Terrapin in Athens. We let the tourists and college kids clog those up. There are so many little ones that are just plain amazing. One is a few miles from my house, when its nice, we go down there, sit on the benches and relax. The nice thing is that they are all within a 10 mile radius of Midtown Atlanta...which is great in itself. So you could just fly in, take the train to midtown, get a hotel, and then uber/lyft to the breweries at your convenience. Then in the evening...you are in Midtown.

There are a couple of new small ones in Athens that are really great. Some near downtown, others are right outside the ring road. Just don't go during football season.

Brevard, NC and that surrounding area has a lot showing up. Definitely more of the "outdoorsy" style, which is fine. Whenever I go to one of those breweries its a blast.

Charlotte, NC has a few that have shown up recently. Originally based in the NoDa area of Charlotte, they've spread out. Its hilarious driving through neighborhoods that were absolute crap 20 years ago, and its all modern and whatnot.

My friends live out by Chincoteague Island. Apparently there are a number of Breweries out there. Also kinda a cool-ish area.

Guinness is my go-to light beer when not enjoying other brews. Cheers!
