Not so fast! John Tackley is challenging the vote and saying it was "unfair". ROAV is calling a special meeting (even though the by-laws state it takes 25% of the membership to call a special meeting) to sort things out. Gus and Doug may get the boot if this goes though.

First order of business: reincorporate in Delaware and retain me as pro bono general counsel.

...or just adopt Robert's Rules of Order so there is some sort of uniformity in these meetings and voting processes.

What was "unfair" about said meeting and voting?

A corporation with minimal (I have no clue, but maybe $20k in) assets should reincorporate in Delaware? What would that do?

Some were complaining about proxy voting. They did not think that was fair even though its in the by-laws.

Stay tuned.

Better veil piercing law so members could not be sued for liabilites of the club, better access to courts to resolve disputes in a timely fashion, give me something to do with my [limited] spare time.

Good luck guys, I had a lot of fun a few years back being 'Madame Secretary', and with luck will be back (and back in my Rover) in time to help out some this summer.

Doug-
That is the plan, should be back up that way in Aug...I doubt even Jay's has changed that much since I left (who are we kidding, I never really left-I just commuted down to Lejeune for the work week). I'm hoping to actually be there for a full tour this time-and am def looking forward to more wheeling.

She is, though I guess I need to change my location to Afghanistan (http://www.newbernsj.com/articles/ai...n-lejeune.html) That article cracks me up just b/c of the title. After doing 114 days straight underway on the Kearsarge, I was happy to go to Helmand.

Good luck with the ROAV stuff, I think you and I talked enough on the side that you know my thoughts on various things and I think you and Gus (along with a lot of the new board) will be good for shifting things into the direction that the club should be going.

I am no longer involved, I have resigned last Sunday after the meeting.

I saw that as well , sadly they did not make an announcement, simply took down the pictures.

I guess my short time with ROAV does not qualify to have on my avatar " Former Board Member " like others have or deserve an announcement.
