Confucius says

Make sure your rear tailgate is latched or your groceries get left behind at stop sign.

I had cans rolling all over the place. I must have looked pretty awesome.

Classic.

Reminds me of the time I was at the dump with my 109. I was backing up and the guy working there was yelling something at me. I ignored him of course. A few seconds later, as I heard the sound of the tailgate folding in half under the trailer hitch, I realized what it was he was trying to tell me...

Coming down our driveway with my snowmobile trailer when I was in high school.....didn't latch the tongue down. Short way down I get a pile driver from the trailer into the tailgate. Glad I had the safety chains on. Good thing it was only a small one place trailer, it didn't do much to the tailgate.

Hah! Great stories.

One time at Rausch or the Cove, I started driving without remembering that I had left my station wagon's rear door unlatched. I started moving and somebody behind me said, "woah woah woah!" I stopped immediately and saw my door flapping around.

Maybe some kind of device could be invented that makes a dinging noise when a door is ajar. Nah...that's science fiction...
