Computer/gps/tablet mount

Just thought I would share this with you guys. I know there are a few here who drives around or go on expedition with their computers. It is made by Ram Mounts and this kit is used in the military HMMWVs for the Blue Force Tracker system:

I have been looking for a while and you can buy individual Ram mounts but they are expensive. I found this vendor on Ebay who has a very complete kit for cheap. As of today it is selling for $40 plus free shipping. It consists of 3 arms, a heavy base, and extra ball mount, 2 quik-lock hinges, and extra bolts and nuts. These are all heavy duty aluminum. Hope that helps.

It's for size reference. I don't drink. I am in AA. I threw it out afterwards.

It is not for my 110. I got it for my HMMWV restoration. Just thought I would share what I found.

I want a slant back so bad. I think the Arizona DMV stopped issuing titles and plates for them a few years back. Claim they are not built for on highway driving.

You putting a BFT in it? Would come in handy to send/recieve text messages from home!

"Rgr, proceeding ATT"

Seriously though, what variant of HMMWV are you restoring?

Those mounts might work for a tablet, but they couldnt hold the weight of any of our, ahem, "systems'" especially off hardball roads.

Ray if I could find a Blue Force Tracker, even if it's inop, I would put it in there. I am having a hard enough time just finding surplus parts for this truck.

I can imagine. Likely exacerbated by how few of them from overseas have come back-and many of those that have got reconditioned with the OEF/OIF $.

You are a braver man that I; as close as I want to get to a HMMWV project is building a scale model of my UAH from either 05/06 days and I haven't done that just b/c of the lack of desire to scratch build all the little field or theater mods inherent with a Marine unit having an Air Force model UAH, etc etc etc.

Wait, my inner nerd just came out.

Good luck, I hope you find some kind of subsitute. Even if its a piece of steel bolted onto a BFT mock up that has 'smash your face here' so that passengers can get the full experience.

Here you go. You just have to find one with the correct documentation. This one has a clear title which means it was released from the military with the proper SF97 form. So I would assume, but you know what happens when we assume right?
