You don't have much experience with this ---nmvtis is the only source that dealers and state dmv use----there is no washing involved--so what history do you think you found??there only nmvtis--and that is that

One of the pre-requirements for applicability for a "Re-builders Title" is that the vehicle has to be more than 25 years old (see C.R.S. 42-12-102(1)(a)(II)). And if that isn't enough, the law also states that vehicles "model year 1976 or later" must have been "registered as a collector's item prior to September 1, 2009; except that a vehicle so registered is not eligible for registration as a collector's item upon sale or transfer to a new owner" (see C.R.S 42-12-101(2)(b)). So even if it did meet the age requirement, which it doesn't, it will be sold and transferred to a new owner, therefore the law once again wouldn't apply. This of course is in addition to the fact that the title has been cancelled (i.e., "junked") and as such the vehicle can no longer be titled or registered.....anywhere....ever. End o' story. Thanks for playing.
Wayne, do you mind responding to this post?

Since I was so outspoken on this vehicle I guess I'm going to have to wade into this one. Wayne actually called me a few days ago and told me that he had gotten a title for the 110. I didn't believe him first, but after he explained what happened, I guess I have to believe him. He's never been dishonest with me before.

So, despite being advertised by IAAI as a "parts only bill of sale", it turns out that the State of Colorado never cancelled the title. I was really taken aback, but honest to god that appears to be the what happened. Never in a million years would I have thought that would happen.

I really haven't thought about this 110 since my last post, but apparently Wayne has been working on it non-stop for the last 6+ months. I can hardly believe it. I honestly never would have suspected that the State would fail to follow through on canceling the title. I'm stunned.

Sorry for not chiming in sooner. My brother actually texted to tell me this thread had kicked back up. As most of you know, I've been a bit preoccupied with other Rover matters.

Ol' Wayne wants $90K for this.... eeeeek! Hopefully a potential buyer will do their homework first.

do you not get the fact it was a flood insurance write off? I mean for some it may not matter - but if I was going to drop $90-100K on a vehicle it would not be one that was a "potential" salvage...I get the fact that it "really" was not written off, but fact of the matter is insurance records may/may not be an issue and at that price point....well...posting up here and discussing it may not be to your best advantage when trying to sell it

There may not be enough of these in existence to discourage some person with a rabid fascination for NAS 110.

Will, I encourage you to inquire about the status of this VIN and title by completing the following two forms, including a check for $2.20, and mailing to the CO DMV:
DR2424 - Salvage Title Statement of Fact
DR2444 - Statement of Fact
Let us know what you find out in three weeks. For your convenience, here is a link to the forms:

I have my hands full at the moment, sir, and consequently, this is not a priority for me. Besides that, I believe I already stated in my previous post that I was taking Wayne's word on the matter.

If it's really that important to you though, then by all means, go ahead and knock yourself out.

I met Wayne through Will about 15 years ago, and have nothing but good things to say. In fact, he has done several Rover related favors, and helped out folks unbeknownst to him.
Conversely, if you commit to do or buy something from him, he expects same to be done as agreed. He has no time for BS, but also doesn't provide any- straight shooter as they come!!
