Cobra...

While at Home Depot yesterday I parked next to a mustang and looked into the car and saw this...

Sorry for the non-rover content but this was to funny not to post.

that's pretty funny. It's also far from a cobra. I have a Shelby GT500 and it always amazes me how people dress up V6 mustangs.

So true on the v-6 mustangs!

I'm amazed how few newer mustang owners know the shelby/cobra roots!
I have a backdraft cobra and I've had several ask when Shelby did old corvettes

Unless a stuffed animal of a cobra riding shotgun.....or a Steelers blanket rear seat cover changes something....its def not a Cobra.

And with the horsepower that a Cobra has, i dont think those pizza cutter wheels could keep it on the road anyhow.

How many of them remember the 2.3 NA 4 cylinder though? Some of those were the worst offenders; putting the 5.0 badges on that POS!!!

Ah, the Terrible Towel in a terrible car.

Hey, I resemble that remark.
Well at least I took a V8 GT and put on a blower and then a GT500 front clip, but I did not put on any Shelby or GT500 badges. Some of us can't afford the GT500 we want. (gonna go hide now).

My mom and dad keep trying to pawn off their V6 Mustang on me...

I tried to explain to them that the exact reasons that they bought it are the exact reasons why I would never buy it:

Silver, V6, Auto

Shit like that is what ruined that US auto industry...diluting your models down to crap "base models" and making everything an option...

If two senior citizens who once owned a 4/6/8 Sedan De Ville and and Chrysler T&C Wagon with fake wood paneling would buy it...

ugh...

Nothing wrong here. Thats a nice looking ride. You can also sneak up on people who don't know whats under the hood. I just hate to see V6 mustangs that are show no go. Let me guess on the GT500??

67 GT500KR

Mine is an 07 with a CAI, FRPP suspension, Supersnake rims, Borla Exhaust. I ordered it when I was in Texas from a very small dealer. Paid to much but don't plan to sell it. One day I'll have a matching 67 or 68.

I can see where you are coming from, but to take the other side of the argument:

Building crap base models is necessary in order to get the go-fast models we want. At least with respect to American cars, there is not enough demand for the higher performance models to warrant the production expense if they can't sell gobs of base models to the masses.

Plus, 15 years from now when the go-fast ones have had the living daylights beat out of them, that pristine base model that Grandma has kept all those years will be a great parts donor car...

Wow...the billboard sticker was bad enough. The stuffed animal just sealed it. I couldn't think of a better car for say...job interviews, first encounters from internet dating sites, beach cruising, etc.
