Chasing Classic Cars Visits Copley?

Just watching this week's Chasing Classic Cars and the preview for next week shows Wayne Carini walking into Copley...is it true? Don't think he bought a Defender!

Or HDT as it appears in the program menu for some providers like Comcast.

Keith. Watching and loving it. I knew it wouldn't be a E type but figured a xk-120 or 140. Not the 3.8 S! Nice surprise!

I cant figure out why someone who is not cash poor needs to sell of a car without at least covering his costs on a reserve... I know he makes tv $$$ more per episode to cover any losses but still that's poor business practices....

I love the OCC commercials now that the family has broken up there crying woe is me... If there was no reality show thaey would never have hit the map as bike builders....

Caught just a part of the beginning of the episode last night with Stuart and Wayne doing the paperwork and happily got a nice glimpse of rows of D90s in the back off the screen while they were in the office. It looked very cool on the big ol' flat screen in HD.

Nice job Stuart. And those Defenders served ase a nice backdrop to the loading of the Jag.

Agree with the OCC commercials. I "love" how they have the huge OCC entrance in big glass behind them. Funny, when that show first came out the opening scene was Paul Jr. opening the small garage door by hand and I thought it had a bit of soul to it. But over the years, I don't know if they've gotten better building bikes or better in front of the camera?

I thought it was strange that he bought it for $16k (I thought). Shipped it around to a few places. Did a little work to it. Then sold it for $15k. I would assume there are some cost for the auction also. He completely missed the deal on this one. But maybe this was done on purpose because majority of his tv show ones are successful.

That is the reason when you don't put a reserve in auction. Supposedly he thought there was enough demand of that vehicle so he can make a profit, as it turned out none. Its just one of those days where you make money or you don't. Its the nature of business.

I don't believe that. They are trying to create drama. I am saying it was a setup of some sort.

Is Copley not that savy to see they had a gem? Why couldn't they sell it for $25-30k. Because its not worth it. They are in the same business as Wayne. Its a $15-16k car. Put it on ebay and it would have sold for $15-16k.

I have to say greed or poor business practices.. If hes not hurting for cash why loose money selling short or the potential too.. If some one really wanted the car and did not make the reserve they know how to contact him to make a side deal
