And I'm glad I did. Some nasty stuff in Brit diesel . . .

I honestly think it was mostly mud. And bits of string. The Doug Crowther ATF in the filter trick worked great though.

Tony, do you also have a sedimenter either in the rear wheel well or against the firewall? If so you may want to clean that out as well.

I just changed mine again the other day too. How common is not having a sedimenter? I can't find it in any other usual locations so I think mine is sans-sedimenter.

Pretty common to not have one...in fact, a lot of owners/previous owners tend to pull theirs out completely. So I'd say 50/50.
