Cdn nas 110 #2

Anyone been over to look at this one? With doors, bulkhead and A/C replaced it could be a good start to a decent truck. 10 years in Quebec and I bet it needs a frame. $45k on buy it now with 10 hours left. Anyone?

Is that a bullet hole in the passenger side wing? Hmmm, local to NYC - I wonder if anyone from the boost club will actually go look at it.

The phone number is associated with the Coliseum in White Plains, NY. And the VIN SALDH1280PA921313 lists Daniel Coughlin (or Coughlan ) as the owner - possibly since 1996 - but LRFAQ states that the color was green in 1996?

that's either a slug hole or very large caliber hole, but looking at the amount of defelection around it it's probably some other type of puncture. A bullet going through that thin skin would barely make a dent around it, it would probably make a neater hole. (has anyone out there with a Defender or Series truck that has been shot at that can weigh in on this theory?)

It looks like it has had a couple of paint jobs. The back plaque has new rivets and the white ladder is a sure give away. The door thresholds look like they need to to be pulled apart and the rust cleaned out. I would imagine the rear crossmember may be an issue as well. I like the price though.

Yea, I'm thinking slug. Maybe he just didn't want to put one of those stupid bullet hole stickers on his truck. Or maybe someone thought he was with the UN. Either way it is at an odd angle with an odd shaped hole.

People buy the most clapped out imports and no bids on this thing yet. I predict massive bidding war at the close mostly from dealers.

With 10 years in Quebec, there is no way the paint would look like that. It has to have been repainted. As for the frame, if was sprayed yearly with rust proofing material and cleaned at the end of the season, the frame could still be decent.

The whole bulkhead has been replaced. From what I can see in the pics, it has functional front air vents.

So I bid on this, and was highest bidder (after just selling my 90 on Saturday to fund the 110)- excited to finally land a NAS 110. Truck has had some work done and needs some work and has some interesting stories (yes, that is a bullet hole), but thought it was a good value at $45K, expecting some body/ frame work would be needed. Now the guy just backed out of the deal saying he has a several offers in the 60K range. Business is business, I guess.

The 110 quest continues....

The seller sounds like a real "stand up guy"...... . No worries, I'm sure something better will be just around the corner.

The truck was stretching it even at $45k - probably why you were the lone bidder (that I could see) with just a minute or two left in the auction. I can assure you that some of the other people I know who were looking at it were definitely not offering him $45k... let alone $60k. eBay is such a crap-shoot for sellers, since buyers can simply back-out of their bids at any time without any real recourse, that he should have been glad to have an actual buyer for the truck such as yourself, at the price he was originally happy with. I can only assume that this is the way he conducts business at the Coliseum. Pretty tasteless on his part.

Because of the complexities of real estate and automobiles transactions, eBay policy regards auctions for those as non-binding.

All good responses, but no worries on this one; there will be others. Searching is half the fun, right? I think the kids are more disappointed than me.
