Agreed, he sure left his mark on the automotive industry. I was amazed to read he started out as a chicken farmer in east Texas!

What a mark that man left on automotive history!

I've drooled over Cobras since I was 15......finally bought a Backdraft Cobra a few years ago.
It's hard to imagine what those original cars were like In the 60's
His life is an amazing story!

My parents had dinner with him the day before I was born in Tulsa. He was so worried all through dinner that my mom was going to go into labor. Dads best friend had a sports car dealership with shelby. The first time dad met him he was asleep in the back seat of a Rolls in the showroom. Hung over as hell

I have family who were/are friends with him and his wife of the past 15 years Cleo, and say his kids are working to see how many of his wishes they can ignore or have changed. Hopefully they can work to honor his legacy rather than honor their own pockets.

I have been on the teamshelby forum for years and have never once heard anything about his kids or family, Other than his wife. I knew he had kids but just never heard anything. Seems maybe they were not in to cars and such.
