Overpriced ripoff

Take a paint meter and slap it around the car ( if you are buying use and can't tell the difference ) they lie about paintwork .

I know first hand about other stuff... but I rather keep them to my self.

You are better going to an auction...

I bought my '06 F150 (daily driver) from them in '08 with only 12K on the odometer and for a price I felt was reasonable/competitive. I now have a little of 60K on the clock and have had no complaints.

Agree with others that an auction can offer better value but also less certainty and no extended warranty!

Hey Mike,

How have you been? Long time.

I haven't had personal experience with CARMAX and like most consumer based companies...you'll generally hear more negatives than positives.

With that said...here are some horror stories:

I have worked for Carmax for 8 years and am a Senior Buyer for them. Love what I do and who I work for. I drive carmax cars (except my defenders) and so does my family. My advice to anyone considering us is to go to your local store and form your own opinion. I will always feel like Carmax is the best place to buy a used car.
