Careful where you park in London UK

Here is a picture of a friends truck being towed away... EVEN THOUGH HE HAD PAYED AND DISPLAYED!!!
The Traffic Warden made a mistake.... so did the tow truck operators!!!!!
This story made the papers and Camden town council face a hefty bill from my friend for the damage!!!!

It was apparently in the Evening Standard yesterday 12/6/06 and the landie Mags will be covering the story.

Here is the story in the London press.
The ticket WAS on display... untill they tipped the truck!
after the fire brigade put it back on its wheels it started first time and my friend went on to his next appointment.
Note the ignorance of the reporter... glovebox!!!!
My friend is in "talks" with the insurance company of Camden council.

I love they say he was not worried about it because he was thinking of the compensation. How about, he's not worried about it because most Defenders get dropped, on purpose, on a regular basis on trails, sand, railroad ties, and various other obstacles. Basically, anything short of an RPG or Mike Hippert and you can just roll it over, dust off the seat, and start it.

So they pick up cars to tow them away in the UK? Wow. You learn something new every day.
