Car Got Egged

So my car, thankfully not the Defender, just got egged twice. I went after the car and lost them but about 10 minutes later they hit my car again. This time I followed them long enough to get the license plate. (They hit me the second time while I was on the phone with the cops). I chased them and they went around a turn and they got their Explorer up on two wheels in the bend. Does anyone have any advice as far pursuing action or know if its possible to find out who they are since I have the plate number. The cops said that they ran the plate number and that it match the vehicle description of a black Ford Explorer.

Plus, I just spent nearly an hour in the cold trying to wash egg off the car but I couldnt get it all of. There is some still in the cracks between the body panels.

Thanks,
Charles

What kind of car is it? Just wondering if it was a good target for them.

Had the same thing happen. Goop off worked on the yolks. Real bitch has they hit the door seam so it really spread around.
As to the police, write it up and go to the police station. Be detailed in your account and that you actually saw the truck and the license plate. Tell the desk staff you wish to file a report and help them in the pursuit of any and all actions. Ask the police if they require the report to be notarized.
One thought, as the egging was done twice (two separate incidences), when you speak to the police, use words like fear, harassment, continued abuse (2 times supports a premise you have been targeted). From my local experience, the police can do nothing as it is your word against the unidentified passenger of the other truck. All you can do is file. Your ace may be the repeated act elevates the situation.
If you do detail the car, explicitly identify the egg as the reason and keep the receipts. If the morons ever yet caught, small claims court. And remembers, it’s not the money that is important, it’s teaching the idiots about the repercussions of actions.

Thanks for all the advice. It was a Jeep Wrangler. THey got me straight in the windshield and then again on the side. I was impressed with their aim. According to the cop, it would be criminal mischief.

I've got no idea who it was and there's no way they'd know that car because it is new.

Maybe they thought they were voting one "off" the driveway!

More-than-likely, they were a few kids out screwing around, with no real criminal intent... Teenage pranks.

We all did dumb stuff as kids and teenagers, these guys just took it to a little higher level.

I would use the goof off and a little bit of wax, no need to spend $300 on a full detail.

As a younger guy myself I have no problem with kids having fun but there comes a point when it gets dangerous. They I was doing about 35mph and they were coming towards me doing about the same if not more when they hit me in the middle of the windshield.
