Should have known that 18" boosts would bring about the melting of his door skins. But I jest. What does that to a tdi? Oil coolers on a Buick V8 sure, but what the heck went wrong here???

Wonder if the customer even had the truck or this was during a test. Looking at the before and after, it didn't seem to have front flares in either pic. Unless of course they burned up.

Sucks if this was just a shake down. Granted better to happen with the shop than with the customer leaving the shop.

Yeah that is weird....but the bonnet is "up" in the burned up pic which at least leads one to believe there was some time to stop, pop the bonnet pull, get out and prop it up before full meltdown. Hoping that also means time for everyone to get out safely/etc.

But who knows...maybe turbo oil feed line sprung a leak (since its right above the downpipe) and popping the bonnet fed oxygen to the flames? Or maybe runaway diesel as someone else pointed out? Or electrical?

True, yet I grab my BC every time I pop the hood for no good reason. Who wouldn't, right? The shop would know this too, and thus, know better. That's what the test drive is for, right? I'm guessing owner. Based on the pitch, provided it's not due to a melted front right ko2, I'd guess RHD driver door stayed open due to gravity, but why the second row. Trying to get to a fire suppressant? Maybe one soul, maybe three. I'm guessing all fine due to the bonnet prop as you stated. Either way, sad to see. Hope all were well.

The style police put it out of its misery. That was one damn ugly truck.
