Question Can this be true? $15k for 19,000 milem Defender?

I don't think I'm supposed to put this in the for sale section because I don't own it (I forget that rule).

there was a similar deal like that when I was looking for mine that was up in Alaska but the Carfax came up in wisconsin and no records of it being in Alaska. The owner wouldn't let me fly up there and pay cash. He insisted on me sending him half of the 12K he wanted, then he would supposely pay to ship it to me, and if I wasn't satified, he would pay to ship it back. I told him I can just fly up there to check it out in person, then pay him the full amount but he refused. just be careful. The seller had no selling history with ebay either.

Good luck.

Yeah the rear 3/4 shot doesn't look conniston, right? I was thinking the same thing. I e-mailed him asking if it was, so we'll see. He purchased a carfax so there's a full carfax disclosure on eBay for that VIN, but who knows if that's the real VIN for that particular car until you check it out in person. I'm really trying to hold out on buying one, but this would be awesome.

A scam. No question. These are quite common on ebay, and are easy to spot.

Its also a good idea to get the concept of "a really great deal" out of your head. Just try to figure out what a good value for the money is and attempt to get a product commensurate with what you are willing to spend.

I'd say they are all the same truck even though some of the shots look conniston. All the pics have the same accessories - brush bar, side steps, rear light guards, and cross bars...sure it would be easy to find two trucks with most of the accessories but probably not the crossbars. Also looks like the same driveway. This doesn't mean it's not a scam though...

josh,

i would second what jim c said about forgetting about getting a "deal" on an internet truck. there are a lot of folks and dealers more knowledgeable than a first time buyer out there looking too and any "deal" is likely long gone by the time you hear of it. that being said prices appear to be coming down right now so you can do better than you would have 1-2 years ago. just be realistic about what your budget is and what you can expect for that and you will be happy.

Yup I agree. I don't recall saying I was looking for a deal, but when you see something like this it makes your eyes pop out a little...and I figured if anyone would have seen this car come around the block a few times before it would be you guys. I figured it was a typo and he meant 119k miles and needed to unload the thing or something, but then again it's eBay.
