Not at all, I was responding to the others' concerns about weight.

I can't understand why anyone with any military service would ever want to go camping ever again. I sure as hell don't.

The military has come a long way in terms of the gear we are issued. I've even seen vast changes from my enlisted days when we still used shelter halves, cotton sleeping bags, and ALICE packs. Now the gear is lighter, smaller, warmer, and better made. Even the MREs are pretty decent. I also can carry pretty much whatever snivel gear I want.

It was a steel pot for me. Wooden cots and a diesel heater in our GP Medium. I had to keep reminding myself that it was pretty luxe compared to how the guys at Valley Forge, the Somme, the Ardennes woods, Corregidor, Inchon, or Khe San had it.
We got hot meals that were cold by the time you sat down to eat.

All right, here is what I bought: http://shop.overlandgourmet.com/K470...x15_p_286.html

I'm going to turn it in to a chuck box / mobile kitchen by building some aluminum shelving inside it, using the lid for a fold down cooking surface, and figuring out a way to install folding/collapsing legs on it.

Seems easy enough that you could make up a stand for it, looking forward to the results.
