Nice 110.
Yes and no, bc of what it is there are other ways of getting it into the US bc of its historical value and quantity made. If he really wants it here he will be able to do so.

Good luck.. I bowed out of it at the very last minute.. If it was 4 weeks further along and If I wasn't balls deep in this it would be me doing it instead of you.. And just to clarify things, I had been talking to Marc for a while on this since he had it posted on the camel trophy forum... Hope you enjoy her, and if you can't complete it let me know and we could work something out..

Where are you going to store the 110 over the next couple years before you bring it in?

Jason,

My brother and I have spoken about this extensively. Matt and Rebecca have friends with a farm in South Africa where they have an open offer to store the Camel and use it for travel within Africa during the next couple of years. After 2 years, the 110 could be brought into the States under the 25 year exemption. This is a good option, so long as their schedule permits them to time to travel to and from Africa over the next couple of years.

But, they've also been talking with USDOT & CBC. The Camel, by virtue of its unique build and historical significance, may qualify for a limited use "show & display" exemption here in the States. Attending and displaying the Camel at events like Overland Expo, or the like, would qualify for the purpose of this exemption. If allowed in under this exemption, self-propelled travel of the Camel within the US would be limited to less than 2,500 miles per annum, but it would be allowed to stay here until it became grandfathered by the 25 year exemption rule, which again is just a couple of years away.

So, he has options.

P.S.- Doug, thanks for talking with Matt. I suggested he should drop you a line.
