California plates

So after finally biting the bullet and going down to the DMV with defeat already accepted I spent four hours sitting there with a big friendly fake smile on my face, joking around with the employees, helping anyone I could, reading DMV literature they call my number. I go outside spend a half hour chatting with the inspector talking about the bummer fact that they never imported diesel defenders, he takes a quick look at the vin tag stamps and signs the paperwork and says have a nice day. At this point I am still bracing myself for the brick wall I am about to run into when I go back in the office and nothing! They take my 500 buck hand me the plates and say have a nice day. Holly shit! I got out of there like the place was on fire and I am still grinning. Thanks to the understaffed, overworked DMV I have my plates. From the docks to the DMV. Folks it is possible!!! I thought the sign was a bit funny. I guess the have people trying to bribe them all the time

A bit paranoid but just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you. Re post with edited pic. I know, I have a gas can on a diesel truck, anyone want to trade for an OD one? It has the old style nato cap

I will post a bunch of pics at some point. I still have a lot to do to it to get it set up properly. Now that the registration is done I can move on. That was a huge hurdle, at least I thought it would be

As long as you have all of your paperwork, and the vehicle is a legal import, it isn't any harder to register something here vs any other state. Although you might think about making an appointment at the DMV next time so you aren't waiting so long.

Oh, the bad news, all registration paperwork is double checked in Sacramento. That's where the errors or ones that slip through the cracks are usually picked up. But again, if everything's legal it won't be a problem.

It's not paranoia! But, as quoted in a famous song: "Paranoia, self-Destroy-a".

You would be surprised how a fast a google search will pull up these posts. Is it 1984 already?

Well, let's see:

Are we in a society tyrannized by The Party and its totalitarian ideology? Check

Are we in a state of perpetual war? Check

Does the quasi-divine party leader enjoy an intense cult of personality? Check

Omnipresent gov't surveillance and public mind control? Check.

Are individualism and independent thinking persecuted as thought crimes? Hmm.

Overall, it appears that, yes; it is 1984 already.

I was concerned about the motor and having to take it to a CARB inspector. One DMV told me it would have to pass an emissions inspection.

I did the same thing. No problems.

As for the gas can I just spray painted mine with OD flat and made a stencil for the diesel and sprayed that in black
