Buying from Withams

I was wondering if anyone has bought from Withams and what should I watch out for if I buy a truck from them to import?

A couple of guys from work are going to go with me in a few weeks or so to check out some trucks that they want to buy. I'm going to ask if I can buy parts off the blowed up snatch 110s. If you have one or more in mind I can look when we go. There are plenty of people buying them in the UK. Most are not "tested"(driving/running condition) and are not road legal when you buy them(no MoT) so you have to trailer them away. All of their sales are recommended to be viewed in person.

Matthew thanks for the offer! Thats very kind. I have a buying agent looking at a truck for me this week. I was wondering more about the paper work for importing it to Fl.

Can be interesting to say the least. Withams gives an Mod Release form that looks about as if your 12yr old played in MS Word. Letter of the law for documentation requirement is "foreign registration" and mod release forms are more along the lines of a receipt. Had to jump through some hoops on a couple.

As far as advice goes- wire funds quickly if they have what you want. Their trucks are in demand and they will sell it out from under you if your payment isn't rec'd pdq.

Also, pay doug (130tdi) to handle the import for you. Worth every penny.

I have had some problems with them before. Manly with sankey trailers and such. They have a nasty habit of sending you picutres of one thig and trying to sell you another. Luckly my guy refused them on the spot and we got the right trailers not a POS one. I have also heard numerous complaints about them doing this woth Defenders also. Unless you can go to the tender sale or inspect the Defender apone pick up from them I would avoids them.

There are loads of nice exmod 90's and 110 out there at pretty great price's so don't feel you have to use them. Try milweb, ebayUK, emlra.org and the such or have some like 130Tdi or I find one for you.
