Buying a car in TN and driving back to PA Help!

I am buying a car in TN and driving back to PA. I have sorted insurance out for the vehicle. What else do I need to be able to drive it back legally? Its a private sale.

Do you have a license plate to put on it?

Do you know anyone who will let you borrow their Transporter tags? Otherwise I'd be caught just driving it home. As long as you have it insured in your name and a signed title.

If you have paid for it and have the TN title, you can take those and get a PA plate to drive it back with that. At the very least put it on your insurance before you set off (even though technically you have 30 days) which I know you say you did, but make sure to get the card or print out of the insurance.

You can also get a temporary plate from your PA DMV office (here in TN they cost $30 and good for 45 days) without having the title (just a bill of sale). I bought a car in MD, flew up from TN with TN temp plates, and drove home. But as others have said, you must have insurance on it.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

One that I saw advertised here. A 1989 Defender 90 3.5 V8. Hopefully the inspection and test drive will go well or it will be a waste of an 8 hour drive!
