Bill, I definitely want to stop and meet you! I'm still a little curious about what we talked about a while back.

Never. I even worked the day you and Dro came! I took a day off for MAR a few years back. One for winter romp. Never actually taken a vacation. the last actual vacation was my honeymoon in Jan. 2002. There is a reason everything takes me forever.

Thanks Jay! It looks like Little Rock is doable... maybe you can be my first stop. Give me some ideas on a cheap motel near you.

I'm stretching my route out a little so I can see the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam... I'm not sure what else I should plan to see on the way. I'll be covering 12 states during the trip, and the farthest I have currently traveled to the west is Alabama.

I am in Taos, NM and will be glad to put you up; we have plenty of room. I did the same thing you are doing now 20 years and got the hell out of ATL; I said I would never drive the ST across the panhandle again and I have not. D90 was brand new at the time; hard to believe I have owned for almost 20 years................Good luck and be safe

do it and take your time. i've done cross country 3 times. twice in my rrc.

if you're doing a southern route and planning on the grand canyon, i'd be remiss if i didn't mention heading north when you get to new mexico, head towards durango, then see moab, canyonlands, drop thru Monument Valley and painted desert and come in the east side of GCNP. it's by far one of the most amazing handful of days driving I have ever done.

you have my number, so feel free to call if you need any suggestions along the way.

Good move on the sightseeing tour. We all need cash but this is the time to do it.
