Love this crazy road trip thingy you are doing Brandon! Shit makes me kind of jealous, but my bones might be too old to do it as posh as you are, so I'll just live vicariously through your posts. Safe trip and say hi to Viola for me when you get to AZ. He's doing a "tinder" of his own in his 130 leaving this weekend.

Try emailing Bill Davis through their site. They may have one. He is out of town, but Tom might be able to dig it out if he does. I will send an email out to the club...I suspect someone might have one hanging around.

Looks like the front end of that D90 made friends with a large immovable object.

Heard from Brandon. They have been having continual problems with the valve lash not staying adjusted. Off came the head and they found 6 tappet worn badly.

Anyone have any thoughts? Just craptastic Chinese quality tappets? These are only oiled from oil that runs down from the rockers, correct?

I have heard and read of that happening. Maybe they reused the tappets when they put the Turner Head(?) on? Should be some more info on G&R, sorry don't remember details. Replace them and double check the wear and tear on all the bits that work with it as they may have worked out of round over time.

Problem is to my understanding is that the damage is already done and if not replaced they will never be able to get the proper adjustment needed to have the engine run correctly. So adding any kind of special additive may mask the symptoms but the problems are still going to be there.
