Byron- Best of luck, and our prayers are with you. My Mom always said "if you pray don't worry, and if you worry don't pray". Easier said than done, but hard to argue.
All the best!!

Thumbs up

ELLIOT IS OUT OF SURGERY AND DID WONDERFUL!!! Only 5 hours, which is incredible, that really lowers his risk of infection in the shunt. He is already breathing on his own. We get to see him in the next 1/2 hour. We will be in the ICU tonight and then in our own room tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your prayers, good thoughts, good vibes and everything else wonderful.

Byron,

I had a benign brain tumor removal surgery back in 1995. It was discovered late - almost too late. Would have killed me if I did nothing. 13 hour surgery. After the surgery I was a mess. No balance. Could not swallow. Wheel Chair bound. Eye sewn shut for 6 months. Took 8 months before the doctors would let me try working part time. I still have loss of hearing in my right ear, and some facial weakness on my right side, and have to add a lot of Eyedrops.

HOWEVER, I thank God everyday that I got a second chance at life. I am now doing everything I want to do. Since the surgery - I now have Fantastic wife of 12 years and two awesome sons. Wonderful family. Have started my own Architectural Firm. Can make my house payments, love where I live, and have a D90 in the driveway What could be better?

I know the medical technology is way better these days then in 1995. This should be nothing but positive for you. I am very sensitive toward brain surgeries because I experienced it. Keep the updates coming.

Elliot and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Young children are amazing at healing. I am praying for a complete recovery and a long life ahead for Elliot!

FLAGG

Great news! Prayers/Thoughts/Healing Vibes to Elliot and the rest of your family. I get stressed when one of the kids is sick with the flu - you guys are troopers.

Flagg - dude you are a warrior! (And Elliot too :D ) Great outlook on life and I really need to think like that more often. Instead of being in a rush and getting pissed at a slow driver or something stupid I need to slow down and hold the door opened for someone or say an extra "Thank you". Like you said - "what could be better?"
