I don't know what their marketing is. I don't see ads for them anywhere. I agree with the rest of your post though. I just personally don't like the "beach runners" or their weird extra long doors on that 130(and I'm sure it was a customer's request, but goofy nonetheless).

There's actually an ECR 4.6 project from around 2002 for sale on eBay right now with 180k miles for $29k. It's from back in the day, but there are some pics of the work orders in there. I wish there was an overall project total, but I didn't see one - I think I counted around $36k in work though from the receipts. Kind of funny how the sliders now only say ROX on them instead of ECR/ROX.

Mind you, this was from 2002, so labor rates, etc. have gone up significantly. Not sure if the labor times have decreased as they've scaled or not...would be interesting to see the same project of another truck with this paperwork to compare the billable hours, right?

that's interesting Josh.
I don't know how it would support or refute my claims on billable hours etc., just that the owner of that early ECR rebuild truck would have to feel confident that all of those hours were properly accounted for. As many people on this board already know, it is an incredibly time-consuming and expensive effort to properly restore anything. Especially when fabrication and good quality painting are factored. These invoices could be totally legit for all we know. $36k for a restoration of a D-90 could be on the light side or extremely reasonable depending on the exact scope. I guess that sounds reasonable to me when a new 4.6 has been installed along with all the other stuff. Then again, I'd have no idea about this particular truck/build, just that I got hosed on time that cannot be accounted for and can't reasonably be understood.

I will say that the one red flag that got me digging further into things was that the project (my project) was posted as being completely done on a Tuesday (pics on his FB wall) with exception of rear window glass and bolting in two jumpseats. I don't have the time sheets in front of me, but my recollection was that he had 6 billable hours the day after. So, it takes 6 hours to install two two rear glass panels and two jump seats? From there it was like an audit that goes terribly wrong. I found hours from the day I dropped the truck off (which was on a Friday afternoon when the place was shut down like a Pennsylvania Steel mill!) Anyway, I have probably revealed more than I should without getting all my ducks in row and I promised that I'd pipe down, so I'll have to stop there.

The only reason I even responded is because its a Friday afternoon and the first beer was introduced about an hour ago at my office. It may get ugly from here unless I quietly back away from the keyboard

I may actually change my stance on ECR and encourage MORE people to use them! Let them find out for themselves.

What an ass - he did it again. He's really starting to look like a prick since there are plenty who have dirt on him and don't post it publically, while he parades around pulling others into the muck on FB.

"Here is a picture of the cow colored NAS 110 #403 that we did some work on earlier this Summer. The customer bought it from a dealer recently and sent it to the dealer's suggested shop. Sadly, that shop really messed things up and so the owner ended up having to send the 110 to us after that shop was done so that he could have things done correctly and get the changes he wanted all along (that the other shop could not deliver on). The good news is that we ... fixed everything that was screwed up."

He continues.

"Customer gets to pay twice sadly, due to the suggestions from the dealer where they bought the 110. Some people can screw up changing a light bulb."

Remember Josh, no one can do what ECR does, no one. That's why everything has to be done in house....blah blah blah.....

It's sad really.

What's funny is I can remember when there were some comments made in house about a certain shop having a FB page and not a "proper" website. Now, who's the FB whore?......

Considering ECR's clientele and the prices they get, I wouldn't expect them to act or portray themselves any other way

What is the point of making not so subtle pot shots over the internet through your business page?

Sure, I get making quality distinctions, or pointing out where you go the distance and maybe others don't.

This simply doesn't lead to anything good.

Yup, I saw it. I don't judge people or their trucks. That's what makes it interesting. If they all looked alike it would be boring. Just my .02
