Boosts.

So I bought a partially completed 1990 mud truck a couple of months ago just cause it looked cool and had a body lift kit on it.. Intended to put a big suspension lift kit on it and paint it orange just for land rover events... I walked past it the other day and thought to my self.. I really need to get on and do this truck and then thought..oh, that's a nice set of wheels on the truck..they look like BOOSTS... All 5 of them.. The New York club will be pissed when they see this being thrashed through the mud with nice shiny boosts on it...lol..

Were they proper boosts.. The disco1 came with a set of wheels that look a lot like boosts.. (Referred to as "poor mans boosts"..)..I got caught unawares until I found the difference..

Nope. Real deal. Living in NY, i've unfortunately come to know way too much about the boosts. That, and hanging around roverdude's shop too much when i lived in socal.

Believe those are called 'Deep Dish', ironic about the poor man's boosts since I'm not aware of any Defender that came with them (boosts) in the NA market-whereas boosts, deep, dish, or the horrendous castors are all OE for D1's.

Getting closer to biting the bullet on a new project.. Been thinking about doing something for a while now.. Soooo I may be interested in trading these boosts (and some cash) for a set of beadlocks..

D1 came with Boosts when fitted with was it the Westminster (?) trim inc chrome bumpers.
They also came with the deep dish, caster and whatever the defender came with...name escapes me....

I absolutely love the "Poor Man" Boosts otherwise known as Deep Dish...IMO they are the "Proper" look for a D90...

I've got a set of Toyota FZJ80 axles with factory e-lockers that Rovertym installed on a RRC for me. It is set up so that it can be bolted onto any RRC, D90, or D1. It also has Trail Ready beadlocks with 36" Iroks. Or you could just buy the whole truck
