I totally understand the desire to ditch them, looks like a nice truck otherwise, the flares are ok but I've never seen those in person.

Best bet would be to fit the wheels to a loaner p38 or disco for craigslist.

Looks like a really nice truck otherwise. Snorkel is done correctly too. Well, except for the near kink in the flex. Those fender flares look like the wide set version but don't appear much wider than stock. Could just be the angle of the pic, but they look fine for a non-purist.

Proper way to compensate for a lift changing center of balance is to assume a wider stance.... Keeps the height to width ratio constant... That means greater offset which can bring tires out of the wheel well... Don't know about the rest of the world but in British Columbia tires outside the wheel wells are illegal ... Hence the flares... And I personally think it looks too much like the jeep yahoos if you don't use them

Do you have to screw those wide flares directly into the sheet metal of the truck?

Yah unfortunately... But I bought the truck to use it... Not to polish it and stare at it in my driveway! Personal choice I've made not to keep it stock... I don't expect everyone to agree.
