Boost?

Why so much hating on the Boost wheels? I'm a long time Defender enthusiast and haven't figured out why there seems to be a love hate issue with Defender owners. They came stock on my 110 and look great on a 90.

I think the hate comes from the over the top love that some people have. They've been placed on a pedestal that is too high.

I'm that way with in-n-out burgers. I hate them. They actually aren't BAD but everyone hypes them up so much that I'm disappointed when they are just ok. (five guys or red robin is way better for a burger chain).

I do like boosts though. I also like castors. I'm not a huge fan of tornados or deep dish.

I'm with you on the burgers. All these years I've been hearing how great In-n-Out is. They finally open on in Austin. I tried them and was not, I repeat, not impressed.

Now back the wheels. I think the boost look great on Defenders, but not all that good on Discos. I have the dish. I like them.

Oh. Thumbs up for Five Guys and Red Robin. And for cheap, DQ, Whataburger, and Culver's.
We also have a chain here called P Terry's which is excellent.

LuisC, I also live in Austin but spend a lot of time in California for work. In and Out used to be a little bit of a treat when I went to CA. Once it opened in Austin, the charm was gone and I don't go in either place. Not bad but I prefer five guys among burger chains.

I like the deep dish for alloys myself. And since I live on the east coast I enjoy Ina and out burger as well.

Never liked Deep dish except with pizza. Caster and TWR wheels work best for me.

I wanted to switch from tall skinny steelies to Alloy wheels. I went with Boost powdercoated black. It was the offset that I wanted.

For Burgers:

1. Braums in Texas/Oklahoma has the #1 burger in the country.
2. Five guys as long as you eat it at the store (the bag kills the fries and the foil does not help the burger).
3. White Manna in Hackensack (not a chain)
4. Whataburger is OK
5. There is a place called Meers in Oklahoma that has a very good burger

Red robin, fuddruckers, and those of the sort are overrated.

Meers makes a great burger, but I have to say when I was there a year ago they changed their bread and it just wasn't the same. Oh yea...nothing wrong with boost wheels

I like 5 Guys for fries (I get them with no salt) and infinite ketchup. IMHO their burgers are ok but greasy and sloppy. For burgers alone, there are better chains, especially in the NOVA/DC area. BGR and Bobby's Burger Palace come to mind. Then there are burgers at boutique restaurants like Trellis's (Wagyu beef!) and FOODE.

I don't know anything about Boosts, but I think Hutchinson Beadlocks are like the One Ring. I would go Gollum over a set of five for my truck.

I ate at one of these when I was in London: http://www.honestburgers.co.uk/

It was pretty good. Their pickles are a good kind of different.

And they had bacon ketchup.

If you guys roll up here to CT, then it's the classic steamed burger with cheese.

oh yeah, I have to say boosts are ok because i've been known to wander in nyc from time to time...

I'm running D130/NAS110 (ANR1534s) steelies, but I would have no issue running Boosts or Deep Dish alloys. I think Boosts or Deep Dish look great on a Defender.

No harm/No Foul as long as they are 16" wheels......and not chrome.

Lets not get started on BLR 20" wheels (why not just cut to the chase and get an Escalade)

A, we understand that. But really we just want to know how you feel about chain burger restaurants.
