Body parts value ??

How much are the rear tub, sides, supports, roof, middle doors, and rear door from a 110 worth? basically everything rear of the driver and passenger.
All in good shape, doors are dented but everything else is good, no rust, from a 96 ish.

Just brain storming...
cheers

Well, tough to say really. New Take Off is getting a lot of money, used I would figure in the 3-4k range depending on how dented the doors are.

I wanted to convert one of my 110 projects to a PU/110 full hardtop regular, but since I bought I cage from ECR I doubt that is going to happen.

What was your foolish idea?

Ron

Steve,
Let me know if you have these items as I would be interested in the middle doors and T-supports.
Thanks,
Matt

Well, I have been toying with three ideas:
1) leaving the 5 door setup, Raising the roof about 10 in and adding a custom poptop. The 10in is to make it reasonable (kind of) to cook and live in side with out the top popped ie. when trying to sleep incognito.

2. Converting to a HiCap tub, hacking the back to access the tub and building the top part of the camper on top of the tub and roof.

3. Scrap everything rear of the front doors and start from there.

I'm just poking different options now. I toy with a 130 concept as well, but I'm not sure I what it that long...What ever happened to mike Slades 145?

What is a "PU/110 full hardtop regular"?

PU= pick up

A 110 "regular" or 109 "regular" is what rover calls (or at least I call) a 2 door 110 with the normal (not hi-cap) pick up bed. You can fit a full softtop, PU cab or a full hardtop.

As far as the pop top, there is a german company that makes somthing pretty cool, but it does not have the 10in raised (which, IMHO unless you are a midget does not really give you enough room without popping the top.

Personally, I think the pop top concept is awesome. I am finally getting my dormobile roof ready to go.

here is the german one

Makes sense. The PU threw me off.

The reason for the roof raise was that we met a German couple in South America that did it and it did make a difference, would'd seem like it would but being able to sit on a bench with out putting your neck forwarrd is the difference.
The biggest deal for us is being able to not have to pop the top to sleep. Wind is a big reason but also being able to just pull over, put up the window covers and go to bed with out others knowing you are in there.
After our first long trip we realized that is is pretty much required.

Great link from EXPO... missed that one...

Where did you get your dormobile top? is it on a defender or series?

I have a 300tdi/R380 127 from 1984 available, it needs chassis work and tidying but it was my personal truck for a few years the 300tdi has about 85,000 miles on it, the clutch, bearing and fork is new fitted a year ago, custom rear propshaft, oversize intercooler, K&N Air filter, new exhaust. Currently has no interior or fuel tank fitted. Would make an excellent base for a camper project. Yours for the bargin price of $10,000 plus shipping.

But doesn't the 110 5-door have a different chassis from the other 110 utility versions? It might be problematic to go from the 5-door to the other options without chassis modifications ...

Cheers,
John

No, chassis on LWB rovers have been the same for SW or regular since the 109 came out in 1959. Brackets might be different here and there, but the chassis is the same. You can't however, put a 107/109 Series I PU chassis under a 107 SW series I or vice versa though.

Doug just helped me get it off of my LWB and onto the ground and dropped off the donor 110 roof to cut up to put the dormobile stuff on. I plan on taking pictures of the process of transferring the roof part over.
