Bimini Top

I'm almost embarassed to ask this...but I can't seem to figure it out:

Where is the correct place to tie down the rear straps of a bimini top? I've been securing the straps through the mounting brackets of the back seat for some time now, but part of the top will remain loose and flap in the wind. I've seen pictures of D90s with the bimini top secured somewhere near the rear speakers, but can't seem to figure out where. Is there some bracket back there that I don't have?

Thanks

Your missing the brackets that mount next to the tail gate on each side. you should have 2 small holes the bracket screw into. I think the jeep brackets will work.

You can mount footman loops on top of the bed cappings (either side of the tailgate) with screws or bolts. You can probably find these items at a boat supply store.

I did the same tie down method for a few years with my top and you are right the center rear of the top flaps like crazy. The fix is to purchase two footman loops from any jeep supply catalog. My 90 did not have pre drilled holes so I had to drill and attach the footman loops. The location is along the top of the rear tub just above the speakers between the rollbar and opening for the rear tailgate. If you pull on the bimini top straps you can figure out exactly where to place the loops so the top does not flap. Do yourself a favor and get the stainless ones because the steel ones rust.

Thanks for the help....the holes are already drilled, just missing the brackets / loops. Had a hunch those holes were there for something. I'll check out a Jeep supply catalog as you suggested.

I have mine wraped around the cage inside the tub. The cage drops into(Through)the tub just to the outside of the speaker boxes. Easy to work with and no drilling.
