Wow, you guys surprise me. Dont any of you guys just use you defender for fast road use? modifying for styling rather than off road.

I just use my defender on road. i have had it chiped, re-geared, run smaller road tyres and have the interior aluminium bling.
There are quite a few guys over here in the UK doing it.

I think its great that you can use the car in the way you want to. Total respect to you off road guys but thats just not my thing.

i'm in for the fireing squad now

Thats like using condoms as balloons for your kids 6 year birthday. They will technically work, but it is sick and wronge.
