That's why you should just leave the surrey top on...it's summer!

I agree...but driving 425 miles to Lake George on Wed with sketchy weather and all my gear amounts to better safe than sorry.

Plus I want to see if it quiets things down! Never did I expect that the Tdi 110 would be silent by comparison.

Unless your Bestop came with ear plugs, I don't think you're going to be impressed with the ambient noise reduction.

So true. I have to stuff items between the hoops and the canvas to reduce the loud flapping depending on the direction of the wind.

No joke....I've actually been wearing earplugs on long trips with it (that is with surrey, mud rover tires, and offroad gearing...before the Bestop).

So for future reference, are Badgers any more quiet? Don't get me wrong....I'm not switching tops since the Bestop gets the job done (and the price was right )., but am just curious.

It's also worth noting that it was fitment I was referring to with my original post. There was a lot of struggling, cursing, and bashing to get the top on. Especially the last corner on the back passenger side. I'm hoping the windows (which still need to go in) give me less of a run for my money .

I also cannot really complain since it was/is a loaner from a buddy (cough, cough...C$) that was kind enough to hook a brother up.

If you're talking about your soft windows for the soft too, those get zipped in BEFORE you install the top.

Can you please post more pics of the besstop with duct tape all over the place already (or did you get a different top)?

Just saw the C$$ reference. Don't rip his top!!

Oh, fitment. I feel your pain. Putting mine on after waiting to long in the fall to swap from the surrey was a nightmare. Getting the windows in was no cake walk either. As I recall there was much cursing and taking of breaks involved to re-think strategy. It was a puzzle that required a specific sequence of zipping in the correct side in order, then unzipping them a bit to allow enough stretch to zip in another section and so on.

In a moment of quick (or hasty) thinking, I pitched the duct tape top as the trash collection was approaching. I am trying to minimize my hoarding and have vowed to start cleaning house of sh*t I don't need.

The C$ top came pre-torn in the back corners .

I have a feeling I will: a) hate my life tomorrow, or b) be driving to NY with the windows out.

You can do it! It is probably considerably warmer where you are now than it was when I zipped them in late in the fall here at 5600 feet. In fact, let's call the season early winter. I seem to remember wanting to get them in before the trick or treaters left unpleasant things in my drivers seat.

I do the the hoarding to save others of the burden . Yeah this is no beauty, and I am sure 18 years ago they went on much easier.

The good news is these make killer surrey tops when they become unusable as "regular" tops.

Pretty sure...planning to drag the wife & kid & dogs, and realized there's no way they'd go for driving in the 90 so thinking of trailering.

It's a great kids event. I'm going sans kids so I can actually wheel this year.

How's the wheeling there? Looks pretty "moderate" (lots of rolling fields/etc). Ideally I'd like to run the trails with the family, then I'm sure that will be short lived and I can drop them at camp and head out for some real "fun".

You driving the 110 or trailering?

I agree with this statement.

It's design to funnel ALL the water inside the cabin. It drizzled for 5 minutes, Jason and I were soaking wet.
