I had a pair of panties with a phone number written on them in Sharpie tucked under my windshield wiper once.

My wife was with me. She snatched them from my hands and got thrown out the window on the way home. I do recall they were size 4 though.

Might have been for the best. Might have been a tranny.

I found a note inside of my 110 that said "I've got $7,000 cash for your Rover". I thought about calling him and saying yes, then showing up with my Rover SD1.

NYC Craziness

I was parking in New York City and drugged out (female) art student, with a bullring nose piercing and a chipped front tooth, comes up to my land rover and says
Art Student: I love your truck
Me: Thanks
Art Student: I just got my vagina waxed
Me: ... Very nice
Art Student: I have to go now, hands me her Chapstick and runs away

Then I went about my business as usual, thinking did that just happen

Got to love a landy

How do you know she was an art student?

Me: Pulling slowly from a red light that just turned green in my D90.
Next to me: Soccer mom in Ford Explorer pulling away at a faster rate.
Back seat of Explorer: Two junior high boys screaming, "Mom, slow down, slow down" as they try to get a good look at my rig.

After I got my first D90 (95 Conniston Green ST), two friends told me on separate occasions, "That car fits your personality exactly." Not sure what exactly they had in mind, but never had anyone say that about any other vehicles I've had. Landy fan for life.

Was stopped at a light last summer when a new Jeep Wrangler pulled up beside me. Guy is checking out the 110 and shouts over "I love your truck. That thing is awesome". I say thanks and figure I ought to at least acknowledge his Jeep so say "Yours looks pretty good too". He just looks at me and says, "Naw, it's a piece of shit compared too yours." I just laughed at told him I at least like the colour of his (it was this sort of orange copper colour, which actually looked really good). At that point the light changed so I gave him a wave and motored off. Gave me a good little chuckle.

I don't remember the year other than it was one of the first couple years of the new Toyota F-J's. I'm fueling up at the local Chevron and a guy in a brand new tarted up F-Gay wanted to swap straight up. He had about 10k in extras and was probably pushing about 2x what I had into my D at that point. Obviously, I say "I'm good, but thanks for the offer." He actually pushes the offer again! I'm seriously caught off guard now. "I just can't, but thank you!" "Yeah, neither would I," he says. ;-) Driving away feels even better than usual. But I'll be back for more fuel in about 150 miles! ;-)

At a cross roads in Manhattan and a little boy of about 2 years old points and says very excitedly and proudly .... That's a truck!!

Made me smile to know another defender fan was created.
