Beasty from Wales

Here's a couple of shots I took today with the blackberry. Sorry for the low quality, overcast and snowing off and on kind of day.

The double cab is the current tow vehicle while the 130 is down. The camo truck is the beasty. Outrageous V8 truck with lt85 5spd, was setup for offroad eventing and was imported for a board member here whom I'll let come forward on his own. Damn thing leaped onto the trailer as I eased the clutch out.
The truck was parked behind a 90 and in front of a 101 radio truck on the quay. Pretty cool 101.

Ron,

Port of Baltimore pictures not Southampton, Uk. They don't have 12ft tall piles of snow like that in Southern England.
You were going to find your own winch....2nd 40ft container year to date left on Tuesday, Julian and I split it.

Neat that it was parked between a 90 and 101. Is the new owner going to keep the camo paint job? Looks like a cool rig from the pics.

That's funny....camouflage. Like the owner won't be too obvious in that thing.

Yes the 110 double cab is available. I had intended to do some things to it before offering it for sale down on the farm but I have undertaken a large project for the spring (thank you Julian) and will have no time. It is a 300 Tdi, r380,disc brake salisbury rear, truck. The seats inside are dark grey vinyl. The second row bench seat has been replaced with row of bucket seats from the front of another defender. Kids say they are way more comfortable than the bench in the 130. Since its a double cab there was no need for the fold forward bench. Paint is arles blue, not the best job but a great color. As best I can tell the truck is completely stock otherwise. The truck has the strongest tdi engine I have possesed (read a bunch).

Gren,
Thats the one. I arranged transport from llaneli. It was an ebay purchase by a board member/friend here who had me handle the logistics/import. He intends to take it apart and do a proper restoration (rented half an aircraft hanger I believe). It won some three day off road event last summer.
Always up for a pint-and a green lane. Lets get together next time I'm over and you can show me S.Wales.
Doug

Julian,
Yeah the two trucks were 3 inches apart and as you know the keys are in everything there. I jumped in the 90 and moved it up a couple of feet. Nice one.

The Beasty from Whales would be mine. It is my next project and as cool as the camo point job is, it is going to become all flat desert tan when I am done with it. It is going to get torn ALL the way down and rebuilt on a Galvy frame. then paint everything and back together.

I have been given over one half of an aircraft hanger to work on 110s. I just got to toss out a Cessna 150. Hey that reminds me anyone looking for an airplane?

Chris, put a metal pail over your head and then have someone hit it with a baseball bat while you roll down a hill. Same as owning a 101. Cheaper too.

Oh snap. Please share how one finagles deals like this. I'm willing to give one of my testicles for the use of over half of an aircraft hanger (within a reasonable distance, normal anesthesia, etc).
