Anyone going this year? I'm going all three days.

I went last year, but can't make it this year. The race itself was fun (I love American Le Mans) but the organization of the crowds I'd rate a D-.

Banners to block track views for general admin ticket holders, overpasses way too small, very long lines everywhere. I've heard they took a LOT of flack for it and have reorganized it entirely. Having said that, I would still go despite last year's issues.

That's really shitty. They do that in some areas near bleachers so that General Admin don't have an incentive to block the entrances/exits to the bleachers, but if they were doing that elsewhere on the track, I'd have thrown a fit!

Well so far the walkways are still too small. But getting in was painless granted it is Friday. Some of the vendors I've talked to seem pleased with the new organizers. I'm loling forward to next year when Andretti and crew have had more than 90 days to plan the event.

I heard they moved the Paddocks from last year too. Is that the case?

More bleachers and more walkovers, crowd movement should be better than last year, we shall see though.

Not to mention the flying 40oz. bottles, errant hypodermics and occasional "pot shot" from all of those projects they are passing. How much will the payoff to the cops, politicians and local "businessmen" be? Can you imagine how much Tony, Vito and Tino are going to charge to repave the circuit? I see an opportune chance to dispose of a few "issues" in whatever construction will be taking place.

Oh and the smell of a NJ water treatment plant in the summer... should be a close second to Monaco in May as a favorite playground of the F1 elite..

I always thought Boston would be a perfect place for GP..up Memorial drive, Storrow, into the tunnels, throw in the Zakim bridge somehow tie it all together. It could really be a nice race.

They swapped the ALMS paddock and the car corrals otherwise no change in paddock locations. Indy and their support races are in the convention center basement again.

Burnie has always wanted a race in NYC but will never get it. So that will be the best he can con out of people. Too bad NJ won't make much off the race for the amount they will spend.

I'll keep an eye out for him. He did a good job in qualifying yesterday.

Is he any relation to Tom Pumpelly? I "worked" ( I was only 15) with a team running a Ferrari 512 BBLM at Daytona, Sebring and Lemans in the early 80's and I think one of the driver's was Tom Pumpelly. The car was run by Prancing Horse Farms and had NTW (now National Tire and Battery) sponsorship.
Hoping to make Petit Le Mans this year since there isn't any conflict with the MAR. Have fun Tyler!

yup, thats his father, i think he was quite competitive. Spencer is a hell of a driver, one of the best in a P-car IMHO.
