You are correct, I have nothing in writing. Just hoping Badger steps up.

Badger builds to order. Stock is both something I've never seen at the shop. He is after all a one man band.

Technically he could send it in 10 years since there's no delivery date. I'm sorry, but there is a reasonable time in which to expect a top, and it's less than 1 year.
As stated before, the quality is the best there is and I am not slamming their product, but you can't actually be defending this timeline......

I'd just ask for a refund and move on to a different vendor. Being the maker of the best top out there is great but only if you can deliver in a timely manner

I am not defending the timeline ( God knows I have blood in my veins not ketchup ) I would have lost my cookies long time ago.

I was simply pointing his options ( which he pretty much had on the table already ).

Cheap and local for now. Can always hack it into a nice surrey. I can refer you to a great place in Denver to do the work. She did a few top repairs/alterations for me in the past.
I'd love the name of the top place in Denver.

Thx

www.stitchlines.com

Look at the site as she has very limited hours. Also not super fast, typically a few weeks turnaround but she can repair almost anything. Does all the REI repairs for Mountainsmith, TNF, etc.

I would say a few weeks turnaround time is blazing fast compared to the times mentioned here.

Two more calls into Badger, no response.

I am not even sure where I am in the production list as he still hasn't let me know.

Just keep calling. I put calendar reminders ever hour and a half for three weeks...

Few weeks is never in the cards. Just too much work to keep up with IMO.

Has anyone actually gotten a top from Chris in the last 6 months? It's now ben almost a year since I placed my order. I'm seriously considering asking for a refund and ordering a Bestop.

My end capping and interior of the car is rusting b/c I'm weathering a wet SF winter without a top.

I talked to Chris about 3 weeks ago, he said my name was on the "board". Hopefully that means I will get my top soon.

It has been 14 months since I ordered.

I've been calling but have not been able to get up with Chris. He charged my credit card before Christmas for the balance of the invoice for my top so I hope that means that it will ship soon? Am I being too hopeful?

I think so.

Technically Chris has had the money for my top since 11/23/2011!

This makes me sad. My dealings with Chris were always great. I had my top in about three months when I ordered it in late '07. Since then, we've chatted casually and he posted my previous truck on his FB page when I was selling it. He used to be active here, too.

I wish he would hop on and at least explain things. This community has too many stories like this.

I'm not stressing about it, I sort of knew not long after I placed my order what I was dealing with. My wife is an artist so I sort of get the persona! I just wanted to know if anyone else had gotten to this point and that this was Chris's MO prior to delivery? I know that when the top comes it will be second to none, but I just wanted to be sure.
