If you have the belt rails, I could loan you my top... Hasn't been on my truck since 2004, so it would need a bunch of heat and time to get it on.

I can't imagine that shipping would be terrible...

Thank you for the offer.

I may take you up on that offer, going to try and hold out as long as I can.

I really appreciate it!

Thought I'd post a positive personal experience with Chris at Badger. Was in the market for a half cab and tonneau, heard about the long wait times, called Chris. First time, got him on the line but I was undecided, second time was ready to order and left a message, didn't get a call back the next day so I got impatient. Found a used top from forum member Ron, he told me his top was getting converted from gutter kit to fabric seal at Badger. Long story short, the converted top was ready when promised and Chris promptly shipped it to me direct. And yes, he did return my second call. Yes, as everyone says the quality is impeccable. I think the top was 3 years old , but it looked brand new. Great product, for sure!

Please don't take any offense to this, but I'd be even more pissed. He has time to take care of you, but not Quimbola from last year.
I'd say this is unacceptable, regardless of how good the quality is.

Capt

Truck looks great! Always liked the half cab configuration on a NAS D90.

Don't get me wrong, Chris is a great guy to talk with on the phone. This will be my third badger product and each piece has been top notch.

The issue is that as of November 14th it will have been ONE YEAR since my badger transaction took place!

I really hope there is! If there is a side to his story he hasn't given it to me.

Josh just so I understand, you gave chris a deposit on a top and he hasn't made it?

Actually I bought the top from someone who had already paid Badger and sold his defender, so I bought his top. Chris has been paid in full.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ghlight=badger

I purchased the top under the impression that it was ready to ship. Once I talked to Chris I learned that wasn't the case. Chris said he would make me next in line and ship me my top in January.

That is where we are today.

Cheap and local for now. Can always hack it into a nice surrey. I can refer you to a great place in Denver to do the work. She did a few top repairs/alterations for me in the past.

Spoke to Chris today. He has been sick the last week or so, is really behind. No ETA on the top.

Funny, he was sick 3 weeks ago as well when my back window piece hadn't been completed yet.

This is now getting to be the theatre of the ridiculous for me. I put in my order in August, sent down my original back window piece in the first week of September and still nothing yet and it's just the back window piece.

He also decided to fix the back window piece that I sent him. I didn't ask for this and wasn't quoted a price or anything he just fixed it and mailed it back with a bill for 200 dollar which included shipping and which was hardly less than a brand new one and the back window of my old one is pretty shot and not really worth fixing, in fact if he had asked me if I wanted that fixed I would have said no way had I known there'd be a cost.

I'm 70 days deep into this thing and I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to see a back window piece come back to me.

Like everyone else I like the guy and I told him. Just simply tell people that it's going to take you 3 months to finish their job. It will save him so much time answering to the people who he promised their top 2 months ago. Also suggested factoring in time for the unforeseen (illness, injury, material issues, etc.) His problem isn't how long it takes to make a top, his problem is how long he tells you it's going to make your top relative to the amount of time that it actually does.

All of you waiting for tops good luck to you.

Today marks the one year anniversary of my Badger top purchase. Still no top. It has been two weeks since Chris said he would give me a status.

Do I have any recourse? Technically I didn't pay Chris directly, I paid the person who paid Chris for the top, which I thought was in stock.

I still want the top.

Just venting...

When you paid Matt Hendrick, was Chris Badger informed ? and what method was used for the information of the new shipping address and owner?

That might answer your question above

Of course I spoke with Chris, he apologized for not having the top as I was told it was in stock. He sent me a paid invoice with my name and shipping address on it.

after 2.5 months I finally got my back window piece. It took a lot of prodding but it was finally done and shipped and looks great. Again, nobody will every complain about the quality here, or the customer service, or much of anything else. Just the amount of time it takes to get done but especially relative to the amount of time we believe it's going to be finished during initial conversations. If he can fix that he'll have it made.

if you do not want the top , I am sure Badger will refund you the money, as nowhere in writing you have a delivery date / time to replace, right?
